Terror on the Trail about more than ghosts and ghouls

It's almost Halloween, which means it's time for Terror on the Trail.

The Henderson event is also a fundraiser for families of children with medical conditions.

According to their Facebook page, this year's recipients are:

  • Cooper McElvain, Owensboro, KY was born February, 2018. He was born with a RARE disease called "CHARGE". It is a genetic disease that strikes 1 in 10,000 children. He is considered to be deaf and blind. This baby has already spent over half his life in the hospital and they are no where near done with his medical treatments. This little guy has the heart of many and the sacrifices his family is making to keep him safe and germ-free are unimaginable.
  • Mia Madrid of Corydon, KY was born in June 2017 with a rare genetic condition known as 22q deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome) which is a chromosomal disorder where a portion of that chromosome is missing. This baby girl has been through so many procedures and experiences physical challenges as well as the apparatus that is required to care for her, it breaks your heart. From feeding tubes to concerns with her breathing to the need for seizure meds to being fitted for leg braces so she can learn to walk.
  • Ethan Peckenpaugh is 9 years old. When he was born, he spent the first 9 days of his life in NICU. He has an "UNNAMED METABOLIC DISORDER" that is controlled by his liver and may flair up at any time without warning. He has a 50% hearing loss and vision problems. They still makes numerous trips to Kosairs in Louisville. Today, he attends Bend Gate as a 4th grader. To top it off, this family also lost their home last year to a fire.
  • In'Darius Walker...In'Darius is a 16 year old from Henderson, Ky. He attends HCHS & plays basketball on the high school team. He and his family have been given the news that no family should ever have to hear, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. He loves his school family and friends who are all praying every day for his recovery.
