EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – What a fun and educational day kids had out at the Ford Center Tuesday.

Dozens of local schools took part in Education Day with the Thunderbolts.

With over 7,000 kids from across the Tri-State, it was a record-setting day for attendance.

The kids were on hand for lots of dancing, screaming, food, fun, and lots of cheering on the Thunderbolts.

Savanna Nalley, 6th grader at John Paul II Catholic School said, “Well we won’t have any homework today so that’s always fun but I’ve never really been to a hockey game, this is my first one so I don’t really know what to expect and it’s really fun. It’s really fun because they point the camera at you and you get to play all these fun games.”

And Myles Busing 4th grader at Loge Elementary said, “We are here for a field trip, to have fun and to watch the Thunderbolts win the game! Eating pizza, having lunch, spending time with our friends, and watching our Thunderbolts.”

When asked what the best part of the day was, the most common answer was- no homework.
