Toys for Tots is beginning its final collection of toys to distribute to kids whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
Volunteers say there are about 200 boxes in the Tri-State. The organization is starting to go to those locations and collect the donations to start the sorting process.
“I think that at the end of the year, we do get to do this,” said Jennfer Mabrey, “and it makes everybody happy to be able to give back and make sure there are kids that aren’t going to do without.”
Volunteers say this is the thinnest year they have had so far in donations. The last day to donate is this Saturday.
