Traffic restrictions in place for Covert Ave. sewer work

The Evansville Water Sewer Utility says rehabilitation work on the existing sewer on Covert Ave. has been delayed until Tuesday.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will start rehabilitation work on an existing sewer on Covert Ave. between Vann Ave. and Green River Rd. on Monday.

Lining operations will be taking place near the entrance to McGary Middle School at S. Walnut Lane and progress east toward Green River Rd.

During Phase 1, traffic on Covert Ave. will be restricted to one lane in each direction east of Vann Ave. from S. Walnut Lane to east of Burdette Ave.

All side road traffic approaching Covert Ave. through active work zones will be required to turn right only.

Phase 1 is expected to last four weeks.

During Phase 2, traffic on Covert Ave. will be restricted to one lane in each direction east of Burdette Ave. to Green River Rd.

All side road traffic approaching Covert Ave. will be required to turn right only.

The intersection restriction at Green River Rd. is expected to last three days.

Phase 2 is expected to last four weeks, starting immediately after Phase 1.
