EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – They’re a group who says they’re interested in “the well-being of all area felines.”

The first meeting of a new club called ‘Tri-State Cat Enthusiasts’ is being held Thursday evening at 5:30 at River Kitty Cat Café, in Evansville.

The group’s founder, Rebecca Pfettscher Bailey, says the organization will be open to formal cat fancy folks and, “anyone who just loves cats.”

“Ever felt embarrassed at showing someone the 175 cat photos on your phone?” joked Bailey. “At our meetings, you can show people those photos, and everyone will understand. But, we’re a social group with a purpose.”

At every meeting, a collection will take place to benefit Tri-State shelters and the River Kitty Cat Cafe, which helps connect cats with new families.

But, Tri-State Cat Enthusiasts attendees also can bring monetary donations, no matter how small.

Bailey says, “If you want to compare notes with fellow Siamese owners, this club is for you.” If you’re mourning the loss of your cat companion or celebrating a new one, this club is for you.”
