Tri-State colleges, universities receive money from CARES Act


(WEHT) — Millions of dollars are on their way to Tri-State higher education institutions thanks to money from the CARES Act. Schools have not yet decided how to distribute the money, but a portion of the funding must be used for emergency financial aid grants to students.

In the Tri-State, these schools received the following amounts:


  • University Of Evansville $1,681,651
  • University Of Southern Indiana: $5,890,282
  • Ivy Tech Community College Of Indiana $33,040,571


  • Kentucky Wesleyan College $843,204
  • Oakland City University $465,821
  • Owensboro Community & Technical College $1,789,723


  • Illinois Eastern Community Colleges – Wabash Valley College $541,848
