Tri-State Men Prepare to Help West Virginia Flood Victims

Local News

A pair of Tri-State men prepare for a trip to a devastated West Virginia to help with flood relief.

Ray Sullivan just returned from helping flood victims in Houston and now he’ll spend a couple of weeks in West Virginia serving food and cleaning houses.

Hundreds of Red Cross volunteers are helping the Mountain State, that just a few days ago was ravaged by floods that tore up homes and destroyed towns.

“It’s all hills and valleys and those valleys fill up real quick,” Sullivan says, “when you’re actually there seeing it, and you see those houses filled with water, everything these people ever had is lost completely.”

Sullivan and other volunteers from across the east cost are heading to the state capital of Charleston before an assignment to the hardest hit areas.

You can help the Red Cross relief efforts by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Red Cross is also looking for more volunteers to help in West Virginia and in the Tri-State.
