NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – Birthdays are special especially when your age is in the triple digits.

Lucille Pitt – born in 1917 – turned 102 today. She celebrated with family and friends at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation in Newburgh.

Lucille worked for DNR and has a passion for the outdoors, birds and plants.

She says at 102 she feels the same as she always has.

“I try to be honest about everything I do and every place I go any questions I have, I try to be totally honest. I don’t believe in trying to give different answers other than the truth.”

While Lucille didn’t have a lot of advice for the youngsters, she did say it is an honor to reach 102.
