OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – A man and woman from Louisville are facing charges after a traffic stop ended in a chase through a neighborhood.

Shortly after midnight, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy stopped a car at the intersection of Frederica St. and Fairfax Dr. because the driver, Heather Estes, appeared to be drunk.

When the car stopped, the deputy said the passenger – Jeramey Hawkins – got out of the car and ran off.

Hawkins was caught a few minutes later hiding in a yard.

The sheriff’s office said Hawkins was wanted on several warrants and drug-related items were found where he was hiding.

Deputies also said they found cash, pills, and 100 grams of suspected meth.

The two face several charges, including DUI, fleeing from police, and drug possession.
