Two arrested for trafficking meth in Madisonville

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) – Two people were arrested for drug trafficking in Madisonville after a traffic stop on I-69 Sunday.

Police said they stopped the vehicle for speeding near Island Ford Road.

We’re told there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and the driver and passenger seemed nervous.

Police tell us the vehicle was searched and officers found marijuana, a large bag of methamphetamine, and a loaded handgun. Police said the gun was reported stolen.

Officials believe the meth has a street value of about $15,000.

22-year-old Macey McElfresh was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, receiving a stolen firearm, among other charges.

26-year-old Anthey Jones Jr. was also arrested. He is being charged with trafficking a controlled substance, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of a handgun by a felon, and possession of marijuana.
