Two people are dead following a head-on collision Tuesday morning in McLean County.
Kentucky State Police say one of the cars was passing a dump truck when it struck another car.
The two people killed were pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was taken to Owensboro Health for injuries.
Investigators are looking at several potential factors, including fog that may have reduced visibility.
Trooper Corey King says, “If the visibility is in your favor, it can be good if you do a legal pass. However, if visibility is not, or if it’s highly congested, it’s almost impossible to go around to pass someone.”
Highway 431 near the crash scene has been closed for several hours while a state police reconstruction team was on scene.
Crews in Western Kentucky were on the scene Tuesday morning of a serious crash on Kentucky 431.
