HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Two Hopkins County men have been arrested on drug charges and warrants.
It happened in the area of Pennyrile Park Apartments on Friday afternoon around 2:30.
Hopkins County Vice/Narcotics Unit was conducting surveillance near the Pennyrile Park Apartments due to recent drug trafficking complaints in the area.
Detectives saw Jeremy Tucker and Brandon Childers, who they say had warrants for their arrest.
Detectives say Tucker had an active Parole Violation warrant out of Hopkins County and Childers also had active warrants out of Hopkins County.
According to detectives, when Tucker saw them he screamed and said, “not today, not today,” then fled on foot.
Detectives apprehended him after about 100 yards, but say he was resisting arrest.
Following a brief struggle, Tucker was placed into custody and detectives say he had meth on him.
Tucker has prior meth trafficking convictions and he was out on bond for meth trafficking, according to detectives.
Childers had two active warrants and was a suspect in a recent case involving a handgun. He’s charged with possession of a handgun by convicted felon. He’s currently out on bond in Hopkins County for felony offenses.
