POSEY COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — Two men are facing charges after deputies say they broke into a home in Wadesville.

Nicholas Beamon and Curtis Nichols are charged with burglary. Nichols is also charged with auto theft.

Deputies responded to a burglary at a Briar Ridge home in Wadesville just before 7:45.

Posey County Sheriff’s deputies say the victim called 911 saying someone had broken into their home and was still inside.

The homeowners hid inside a room until it was safe to come out, deputies say.

While inside the room, the victim called a neighbor asking for them to watch out for anyone. Deputies say the neighbor told them they saw a black truck in the driveway but didn’t recognize it.

When deputies arrived, they say Beamon and Nichols were in front of the residence.

Deputies say the two men were involved in the burglary.

The sheriff says it seems to be an isolated incident.

The black truck the men used for transportation was reported stolen from Evansville.

Beamon is being held on a $15,000 cash only bond. Nichols is being held on a $16,000 cash only bond.

Both are being held in the Posey County Jail.
