Two people displaced after overnight house fire in Mt. Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, Ind (WEHT) –  Mt. Vernon Fire Chief Wes Dixon says two people were displaced after an overnight house fire. Firefighters were called to a working structure fire on East 6th and Owen Street in Mount Vernon around 9:30 Saturday night.

Officials say the inside of the home has significant damage. No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross has been called to assist the residents.
