Uber driver accused of rape appears in court

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville Uber driver accused of rape made his initial court appearance on Wednesday.

Marshall Banks entered a plea of not guilty.

He was ordered to be held on a $100,000 bond.

He’s scheduled to be back in court on July 24.

Banks was arrested over the weekend after police said DNA evidence found on a woman who claimed she was raped matched the DNA belonging to Banks.

The woman reported the incident in December after she took an Uber home following a night of drinking.

She claimed Banks raped her when they got to her apartment.
