UE hosts Martin Luther King Jr Day with theme ‘Labor of Love’

The University of Evansville celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the theme ‘Labor of Love’, and a big part of that was giving back to the community.

UE held a symbolic march to commemorate the historic Civil Rights march on Washington.

After the march, UE’s Black Student Union hosted a panel discussion to field questions about careers.

Students also teamed up with community members and Evansville Day School students to stuff care bags for local foster children.

The students say it was an inspiring day.

“Just remember, like, your dream and realize that you can really accomplish whatever you need to do as long as you have that goal, cause it’s like passion is important, but so is action.”

There will be a keynote lecture and reception with Cynthia Nance in Eykamp Hall in Ridgway University Center.

Nance is the Dean Emeritus and Professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law.
