EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A new scholarship at the University of Evansville hopes to get students transferred into its nursing program.
The new $20,000 scholarship is available for students not enrolled at UE.
With Deaconess and St. Vincent Hospitals expanding in Evansville experts say the demand for nurses is growing.
About 20 undergrad students will get the scholarship every year.
Professors say this can open the door for students who were denied at other schools.
“They also can’t accept everybody that applies to their program, so this is an opportunity for those students to then pursue a nursing degree, those students who have a passion for nursing and complete their nursing degree.”
Officials say students can graduate in as little as three years after transferring.
Contact the UE Admissions Office to apply.
