OWENSBORO, Ky (WEHT) An Owensboro distillery that had two employees test positive for COVID-19 last month is now dealing with another issue – their union contract.

The distillery reopened two days after the initial employee tested positive for COVID-19.

A union representative says the contract expired at midnight April 6 and an extension has been signed for the current agreement to remain in place through April 14.

Here is a statement from the union:

“The union is committed to working with the company to achieve an agreement that honors the hard work of our members who are proud to have made their company profitable and successful, and to future generations of hard working men and women at Glenmore Distillery.”

Glenmore Distillery has produced hand sanitizer during the pandemic.
