Union Co. Man sentenced to 8 years for reckless homicide

UNION COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – A Union County man convicted of reckless homicide is sentenced to eight years in prison.

Joevionte Simms was charged in the January 2017 shooting deaths of Caesarre Rapier and George Black, Jr. at a home in Morganfield.

Simms and two others were arrested following a chase that ended near South Middle School in Henderson.

Simms was originally charged with murder, but the jury found him guilty of the lesser charge last month.
