United Way of Southwestern Indiana suspends some volunteer income tax assistance locations

(WEHT)- Monday the United Way of Southwestern Indiana announced the decision to immediately suspend some Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA ) locations.

This is due to the recent concerns regarding the covid-19.

The following additional VITA locations and events will be suspended until further notice:

-United Way of Southwestern Indiana, 318 Main Street, Evansville
Drop-off: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 1 pm

-Christian Resource Center, 499 Jefferson Street, Rockport
Drop-off: Monday and Friday, 10 am-Noon and 1 – 3 pm.

These locations are in addition to the previously suspended locations:

-WorkOne, 700 E. Walnut Street, Evansville, no walk-in services, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

-Tri-Cap, 499 W. State Road 62, Boonville. No walk-in services, Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings

-United Way of Southwestern Indiana, 318 Main Street, Evansville. No walk-in services, Wednesday evenings.

The United Way of Southwestern Indiana will continue to offer VITA at the following locations after 03/24/2020:

-Legal Aid Society, Evansville Civic Center Complex by appointment only.

Individuals and families may prepare their own taxes for free online .
