A thief swipes a pricey piece of art from a building on the UE campus and police want your help identifying who grabbed it.
The stolen piece or art comes from the James Dicke Collection.
The prominent business executive from Ohio gave the gift to the University of Evansville back in 2008.
Police say 2 men swiped the $3,000 painting from the School of Business building on the UE campus.
Police also say the heist happened on December 2.
Police are trying to identify the 2 men and believe the white male in the dark hoodie and ball cap is the suspect. The man in the red coat is not considered a suspect, but detectives are still wanting to talk to him.
UE recently had the paining appraised, giving it the value of $3,000.
Even though this is an expensive piece of art, police say they will approach this theft investigation the way they handle any other.
Captain Chandler hopes the quality of the surveillance video will help with the identification of these 2 men.
He says detectives are trying to figure out whether the their wanted to resell the painting or simply use it for his own purposes.
