HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Monday only a few inmates have reported symptoms and the quarantine has been lifted. Jail officials are still trying to determine what caused the outbreak. Officials say the facility now appears to be on mend.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A large number of inmates at the Henderson County jail are sick with what jail officials are saying is similar to a stomach virus. They say symptoms started Friday night.

Sick and behind bars. Officials with the Henderson Country Detention Center say around 200 of the 700 people in their custody are sick with what they’re saying are symptoms similar to a stomach virus. But it’s not clear what exactly it is.

Officials say the virus was widespread and the entire jail was placed under quarantine

Jail officials say they still don’t know what’s caused the illness but tests are still being done to figure that out.
