UNION COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say Kentucky 56 in Union County could be closed until 8 p.m. tonight.

Recovery work at this site is moving slowly.

A crash involving a semi truck and another vehicle has blocked a portion of KY-56 in Union County.

It’s unclear if there are any injuries, but we’ll continue to update information as it becomes available.

UNION COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky 56 is blocked after a crash involving a semi truck and another vehicle in Union County.

KY56 is blocked off between the Morganfield Bypass and the Shawneetown Bridge due to a semi truck and another vehicle crashing.

The semi truck was hauling scrap metal that may have to be off-loaded to allow the truck to be moved.

It could take up to four hours to clear the area.

It’s unclear if there are any injuries.

Drivers should avoid the area, if possible.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials are diverting traffic to alternate routes.
