WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – An update to a story we have been following on a Warrick County woman who is charged with neglect in connection to the death of her two-month-old infant.
On September 14th, police responded to an apartment above a detached house garage on South Pelzer Road.
Police say they found a baby unresponsive on a couch at the apartment.
Paramedics believe the child died hours before they were called.
The mother, Fallon Bonnell told detectives she had been drinking and had fallen asleep on the couch, smothering the baby.
Police say Bonnell’s story wasn’t adding up.
Warrick County Sheriff, Michael Wilder said, “Obviously a crime possibly was committed out of this incident but either in other incidents I think it’s important that people remember to put their child down in a safe way you know on their back not with a lot of covers, pillows, different things within their bed or crib and really the only safe place to put them is in their bed.”
Bonnell is being held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to be back in court on November 15th.
