USI daycare reopens, following hot car death

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The University of Southern Indiana daycare center reopened on Monday, after a child died in a hot car last week.

The Children’s Learning Center closed Tuesday, after authorities said three-year-old Oliver Dill died after being left in a car seat in the USI campus parking lot.

His father is an employee at the university.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding said he believes there was no malicious intent.

The prosecutor’s office will decide if criminal charges should be filed.
