USW ratifies contract with Alcoa

(WEHT) United Steel Workers have voted to ratify a new four-year contract with Alcoa.

The contract impacts 1,600 workers in five states. It also includes annual wage increases of more than 12% and includes affordable healthcare.

Their last contract expired in May. Negotiations lasted for months until USW and Alcoa came to a tentative agreement on Aug. 30.

The new contract runs through May 15, 2023.
