Vanderburgh Co. Coroner’s Office releases cause of death for victims in double homicide

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office has released the cause of death for the victims in a double homicide.

The coroner’s office says Satanna Kendle-Douglas and Donte Meriweather died from multiple stab wounds.

Evansville Police have arrested 46-year-old Ernest Douglas in connection to the double homicide. He is facing two counts of murder.

According to EPD, a fight at a home on Plantation Court led to the deadly encounter and detectives believe the victims knew the alleged killer.

The bodies Meriweather and Kendle-Douglas were found Monday night. EPD believes they died days ago.

On Wednesday, Ernest Douglas made his first court appearance and the judge ordered Douglas to be held without bond.

We will continue to update information once it becomes available.
