VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – It’s been one week since thousands of students across the Tri-State returned to school.

That means it’s also been one week since law enforcement filled the roads with extra patrol to catch stop-arm violators.

A new federal grant gives the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police and Indiana State Police extra cash to target drivers who break the law.

However, it seems drivers have noticed the extra patrols and are following the rules.

So far, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s office says it has handed out two violations.

ISP in Evansville have handed out zero.
