Vanderburgh County Sheriff still searching for driver after car chase

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a driver after an early morning car chase on Saturday.

A Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a white Buick LeSabre near US 41 and Morgan Avenue in Evansville that appeared to have an impaired driver.

The driver then took officers on a chase, ending at the 2200 block of E Tennessee Street before taking off on foot. Deputies found three passengers, including two children in the vehicle. Officers also recovered a gun from the driver’s floorboard.

The Indiana Department of Child Services also responded to the scene. Authorities say the search for the driver is still ongoing.
