HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A grass fire caused headaches for many drivers heading home from work in Evansville on Thursday.

Dispatch tells us crews shut down one lane of the Lloyd Expressway around 5 p.m. after smoke from a fire on the side of the road was causing issues.

According to dispatch officials, this fire started near the University of Evansville. Traffic was backed up for some time while drivers merged out of the closed lane.

It is unknown at the moment what might have caused that fire.
