EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The coroner has identified the person that died in a moped accident on University Parkway as William Levon Hutchins, 35, of Evansville.
Officials say the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office along with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash, which involved a vehicle and a moped.
The coroner says William Levon Hutchins died after his moped was struck by a vehicle on University Parkway near Hogue Rd. on February 5. Officials say the cause and manner of death are pending autopsy and toxicology results.
The news release states the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.

Monday morning, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a moped rider involved in an accident on on University Parkway passed away. It happened just north of Hogue Road late Sunday night. Dispatch tells Eyewitness News the crash was reported around 10 p.m.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says the moped was heading north on the Parkway when it was hit by another vehicle heading northbound, and its rider was thrown from the vehicle.
The rider was transported to a local hospital in critical condition after being treated at the scene.
Officials say the rider was wearing dark clothing, and the moped had no external lights at the time of the crash.
