The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says an intoxicated motorist injured two passengers on Tuesday.
Authorities say the single-vehicle accident happened before 10 p.m.
They also say witness statements and on-scene investigation indicate that Michael Douglas of Wadesville was driving a vehicle on Diamond Ave. at the intersection of Mesker Park Dr. when the vehicle left the roadway.
The sheriff’s office says the vehicle was traveling westbound but it crossed the median, entered the other lanes, and then traveled down an embankment before overturning in a wooded area.
One of the passengers, Zachary Allison, managed to extricate the other two people inside the vehicle and drag them up the embankment to the side of the road, according to the sheriff’s office.
All three were transported to the hospital.
Douglas was treated there and later booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
The sheriff’s office says preliminary tests indicate Douglas had both alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of the crash.
The third passenger, Calista MacGregor was sent to the hospital with possible internal injuries.
There’s currently no word on her status.
Zachary Allison was treated at the hospital and released.
