Vehicle leads police on pursuit from Evansville to Henderson

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville Police Department was involved with a police chase that ended in Henderson on Wednesday.

The chase appears to have started in Evansville and crossed into Henderson.

The chase ended on US 41 and a suspect is in custody.

Christopher Norman, 23, was identified by authorities as the suspect.

Norman had warants out for charges of escape, dealing methamphetamine, petition to revoke, and making threats to a police officer.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office said deputies tried to stop Norman in the area of S. Kentucky Ave. and Cherry St. in Evansville.

Instead of complying, Norman fled towards Henderson, according to authorities.

Norman’s vehicle crashed into a guardrail trying to avoid stop sticks, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said Norman rammed his vehicle into a pursuing deputy’s vehicle during the chase, according to the sheriff’s office.

Norman was taken into custody in the Henderson County Jail.

No serious injuries were reported during the incident.
