Volunteers help set up west side’s Santa Land

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Setup started Friday morning for the West Side Nut Club’s Santa Land.

More than 60 people showed up to help get the yearly Christmas event ready at the corner of West Franklin and 10th Ave.

Nut Club members started planning this year’s Santa Land last year.

It all began in 1999 and has only gotten bigger since.

Grant Folz with the West Side Nut Club said, “Every year we add a little, a new touch to it, you just kind of have to come and see what’s going on this year. We have a couple of new features this year inside the tent and we’ll kind of let the public see what they like about it.”

Here’s a clue for one of the new features: Santa has a new ride.

Santa Land will be open December 14 and 15, and then again December 21 and 22.
