Wanted Kentucky man caught wearing a flannel shirt and a sombrero

Local

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) Evansville Police say they were searching for 3 hours for a man wanted on a felony warrant before he was captured.

Officers were called to Animal Control Thursday around 1:46 p.m. about Cody Dean Patton, 24, who had a felony warrant out of Kentucky. There was also an alert that Patton was armed and dangerous.

EPD says when Patton noticed officers arriving, he ran out the back of the building. Patton then ran across the Greenway, swam across Pigeon Creek and then forced his way into a home at Diamond Place Apartments.

Three hours later, Patton was located in a yard barn on Meyer Circle wearing a flannel shirt and a sombrero. When Patton first ran from officers, officers say he was wearing a white shirt and jeans.

Patton is currently being held in the Vanderburgh County Corrections Center until he can be extradited to Kentucky.
