Update: One lane open on Warrick Co. road after oil tank falls off truck, spills into nearby creek

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – One lane has reopened on State Road 68 in Warrick County after an oil tank falls off of a truck and spills into a nearby creek.

It happened on S.R. 68 between Elberfeld and Lynnville.

According to sheriff’s deputies, the driver went off the side of the road and over corrected, causing the tank to fall of the truck.

There were no injuries.

Deputies aren’t sure how much oil was in the tank.

Most of the spill has been cleaned up.

It’s unclear when the road will reopen.

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – A Warrick County road is shut down after an oil tank fell off a truck.

It happened Thursday afternoon on State Road 68 between Elberfeld and Lynnville.

According to sheriff’s deputies, the driver went off the side of the road and over corrected, causing the tank to fall of the truck.

There were no injuries, but oil spilled into a nearby creek.

Cleanup is expected to take hours.

It’s unclear how much crude oil the tanker was carrying.
