Eyewitness News was first to report Sunday night’s train derailment.
Smoke continues to hover over the Princeton area, as propane, which was being hauled in some of those derailed cars, continues to burn.
Monday morning, authorities say it could take hours, even days, for the fire to fully burn itself out.
This all began around 7:00 Sunday night.
Eyewitness News photographers captured the massive fireball which was the result of that derailment.
First responders went door-to-door to all neighboring businesses and homes to evacuate the area.
Currently, that order remains in place.
CSX crews from Florida and the east coast have flown in to begin investigating the derailment.
Those evacuated were taken to the Gibson County Fairgrounds’ Toyota Events Center.
The Red Cross is assisting the evacuees.
The Indiana State Police says a multi-agency briefing wrapped up Monday morning.
State Police Sergeant Robert Lambert tells us the public can expect more details at a formal news conference, also happening sometime Monday morning.
