CHICAGO, Ill. (WEHT) – The state of Illinois reported 3,239 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. Additionally there are 138 new deaths, bringing the total to 3,928 total deaths across the state.

Governor Pritzker announced that so far, each region in the state is currently meeting the guidelines to progress into the next phase of reopening at the end of the month. Governor Pritzker says the regions will have to continue to meet the guidelines over the next two weeks.

Governor Pritzker says he would like to return from self-isolation as early as next week as long as medical officials sign off.

Finally, Governor Pritzker asked regions to continue to use vigilance and continue to move in a positive direction. He said most local officials have been very collaborative aside from the loudest few that are being defiant.
