INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WEHT) – The state of Indiana announced 862 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday for a total of 21,870 cases in the state. Additionally, there are 51 new deaths, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Indiana to 1,264.
Dr. Kristina Box said that the state expected to see higher numbers at this point of the pandemic in the state because of the high portion of Indiana’s population suffering from other diseases that put them at higher risk for contracting COVID-19.
Additionally, Wednesday marks the first statewide testing in 20 new locations across the state. Thirty additional sites will be added in the state over the next month.
