INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WEHT) – The state of Indiana announced 650 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 22,503 across the state. There are also 31 new deaths across the state.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms or are in an at-risk population without symptoms, the state urges you to get tested at one of the sites across the state.

Governor Holcomb also provided an update on the unemployment rates and payments in the state. The state will hold a statewide virtual job fair on May 21 for the Census Bureau.

Governor Holcomb also discussed what indicators he would examine in order to be able to proceed with the phased plan as expected, citing that as long as the ability to care for those in need remains possible, the state will continue to move forward with the phases. Dr. Kristina Box also indicated that while the state expects to see a spike in cases as the state reopens, they hope the curve continues to flatten.
