Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announces plan for PPE donations

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WEHT)- Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced Saturday that while Kentucky currently has a stockpile of over two million gloves, Kentuckians with protective personal equipment can donate what they have at Kentucky State Police posts and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet hubs.

Beshear also announced that Kentucky now has 1840 COVID-19 cases and four new deaths, bringing the total to 94 fatalities. One of the fatalities was a 79-year-old patient in Daviess County. Beshear is asking Kentuckians to shine a green light tonight in memory of those who have died.

Beshear says 153 residents in long-term care facilities across Kentucky have tested positive for the virus, along with 92 employees. Beshear added that 21 deaths from the virus in Kentucky have come from long-term care facilities.
