Owensboro National Guard soldiers receive sendoff

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – More than 150 Kentucky National Guard soldiers will be heading to the US Central Command Area of Operations to conduct construction missions in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. On Thursday, friends, family, and Kentucky National Guard leadership will be saying farewell to the 206th Engineer Battalion based in Owensboro.

Eyewitness News will provide a live stream of the event starting at 2 p.m.

The Owensboro-based unit was last deployed in 2006 to Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
