Water department holds open house, updates residents on upcoming Broadway Ave. project

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility held an open house to update residents on an upcoming project on Broadway Avenue.

Crews will be working to replace a water line that runs along Broadway Avenue.

Before work begins, they invited residents who live near the work site to inform them on how the project may affect their water service.

EWSU officials say residents can expect two to eight hours of water delays periodically throughout the project depending on where their home is located.

“The end result is going to be positive. We do have regular waterline breaks along Broadway now that are very much unplanned, so this new waterline will help with the amount of breaks we have along this corridor. So long term they’ll be happy about it but short term there are always challenges within the construction timeframe.”

Work is scheduled to begin later this month and be complete in June 2020.
