UPDATE:

EWSU crews are currently on the site of the water main break at Sunburst Boulevard & Rheinhardt Avenue working to determine the cause of the break.

According to an EWSU official, water will only be turned off if needed and residents in the area of the break are fed off a main that is outside the possible shutdown.

At this time, the EWSU does not expect any impact on water service. This story will be updated with any changes issued by the EWSU.

ORIGINAL STORY:

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) Another water main break has occurred, this time on the south side of Evansville, at the intersection of Sunburst Boulevard & Rheinhardt Avenue.

This is the same area where a sinkhole opened earlier in the summer, which has been awaiting repair. Repairs to the sinkhole will be made today, however, it may be dug up in the future to locate what originally caused the sinkhole.

A precautionary boil water advisory may be issued, but at this time, that remains undetermined until the main is fixed and crews can determine the parameters and who is affected.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available from the Evansville Water & Sewer Utility.
