US 60 near Casey Creek Branch near the Union-Henderson County Line may be open right now, but transportation officials are monitoring rising floodwaters and say they may have to close the road.

Transportation engineers have strategically placed message boards to alert motorists if the roadway should have to close.

The bridge  at KY 359 mile point 6.160 along the normal detour is restricted to a 10-ton load.

Should US 60 be required to close during the overnight hours, passenger vehicles will be able to detour along the normal route via KY 359 and KY 136 through Smith Mills. However, trucks over 10-tons will be required to take a longer detour to avoid the bridge load limit on KY 359.

Eastbound trucks will be required to take 130 through Uniontown, then back along KY 360 to KY 359, then follow KY 136 through Smith Mills to return to US 60 at Henderson.

Westbound trucks will be required to take KY 136 West at Henderson through Smith Mills, then KY 359 to KY 360 through Uniontown to take KY 130 to return to US 60 at Morganfield.
