WAYNE COUNTY, Ill. (WEHT)- The Wayne County Health Department took to Facebook Thursday to “dispel some misinformation surrounding the openings of local restaurants for on-site dining.”

In fact, the health department says it is not approving reopening dining areas for “on-site consumption” and says it is basing that decision on current orders laid out by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

The health department says it has reached out to businesses with information to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19. On Wednesday, Eyewitness News spoke with Amanda Bell, owner of Barb Wire Grill in Fairfield, a local restaurant that reopened its dining room to the public.
