Webstaurant Store adding jobs at Madisonville plant

More than 100 new jobs head to Madisonville at the site of an old factory. Webstaurant Store announced it will add as many as 120 jobs to its Madisonville plant.

The company is building a new 540,000 square foot warehouse at the site of the old Goodyear facility on Commerce Dr. The old facility is now being torn down.

Hopkins County economic officials say now that jobs are coming, qualified workers are needed.

"Workforce development is incredibly important to us to fill those jobs," said Ray Hagerman of Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corp. "We're going to have to work hard to fill those jobs, which is a great problem to have but is nonetheless something we need to focus on."

Company officials say they will start hiring closer to the end of 2018 at the earliest.
