The Evansville Fire Department was called to a fire at the 2100 block of East Iowa St. in Evansville late Saturday night.
Crews say they received multiple calls about a structure fire at an abandoned home at the intersection of East Iowa and North 10th Street.
District Fire Chief Amy Smith says by the time crews arrived the upper level of the house was fully engulfed in flames.
She says it took crews nearly two hours to put out.
EFD officials say the house that burned is vacant. They say both houses next door were not damaged.
Smith says the cause of the fire is still under investigation but believes it started in the attic.
Officials say the house is a total loss.
