EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The West Side Nut Club announced that its Pet Parade will take place on Saturday, October 12.
The parade will be sponsored by the Pet Food Center, and it will start at 10 a.m. on West Franklin Street.
This year, the West Side Nut Club is partnering with the Vanderburgh Humane Society for a “Fall Festival Pet of the Week” that will be present during the parade.
Anyone wishing to participate in the free event should line up at 8 a.m. in the St. Boniface parking lot at the corner of Wabash Ave. and Michigan St.
Judging for all eight categories starts at 9 a.m.:
- Girl with pet
- Boy with pet
- Group with pet
- Girl, no pet
- Boy, no pet
- Group, no pet
- Special group
- Large animal
Judges will be students and adult volunteers, who aren’t members of the West Side Nut Club.
The club said no full-size vehicles should be used to pull trailers or participate in the parade, but ATVs are allowed.
The parade also doesn’t allow the promotion of any business or political party.
