(WEHT) Although the coronavirus is expected to peak in the U.S. in two weeks, many states will see their individual peaks well after that, according to a model by the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.
The interactive map indicates that Illinois cases will peak on April 16th while Indiana cases will peak on April 17th. Kentucky, however, is not projected to have its peak number of cases until May 12th. The model indicates the average peak in the United States will be April 14th.
The model further details an updated view of medical resources available at this time for each state including total hospital beds surplus, ICU beds surplus, and ventilators needed.
